an experiment using some oil pastels that weren't that much better than crayons. owell. i think it turned out ok. what it is of , that's for you to decide.

I see you don't have much better luck with this medium than I do. 
I think I used pencils with mine in an attempt to remove some of the incidental texture (white paper showing through) in mine. Though it is very possible that your scanner makes them 'appear' more than in real life (I had that prob.)
Great job with the color values. Shades getting less detailed and shifting to blue the farther away & all.
I would have to say that this place looks hot... except for the stony mountains, they look cold.
