The Skua and the Bunting

Description

My old Rainesong idea is getting yet another rejuvination. Possibly into something else. This one was done on the back of my science notebook, with faber-castell pens and brush pens. It's a marvel they haven't run out of ink yet.

Basically Hiram Skualek and Lillian Bunting having a chat over some tea. the characters are revamped versions of pretty old characters- Skua started out as this weird villain-bird-person my friends helped me come up with in seventh grade. I decided to give him a waistcoat, because, well... they're cool to draw and it reminds me of old photographs. :D Lillian's character is VERY old, and completely changed... I made her up when I was about, I dunno, six years old, when I used to make little booklets with her explaining SCIENCE! I think I may still have those booklets... later she was the main character of a bird-people story called "the Primary Feather club" I had in my head in third grade, and was basically this geeky smart person who was able to figure all sorts of cool stuff out. (like long division! *gasp*) In this comic thing she's obviously come a long way, but I still kept that geeky personality by making her a Professor with an interest in language and culture. :D Plus I like her costume a lot. I really can get tired of drawing blazers and boater hats on my OTHER turn-of-the-century-esque comic character, Lewis. (Who I haven't posted much pictures of, so don't worry if you don't know.)

As usual, no need to understand the allusions, here, they're mostly made up to make Lillian sound smart. (heh.) Kudos to you if you've read this far... it's just that I've been drawing bird people for FOREVER, so they have a lot of memory attatched to them. :sun: And I can't help but rant about it. But then again, there are people like me who like reading explanations, so good for you.

And for you people who just like to skip to the end without reading the whole comment- YES, they ARE birds!
