Once upon a time there was a little Scottish girl named Amelia Pond who had no Mum or Dad but for an Aunt who was gone a lot. She had just recently moved to England and that was disagreeable to her, for she had no friends there. In her new house she found a fairly large crack in her bedroom wall and that was curious; for it was a large and new house and it ought to have been fixed up well.
Well, when Amelia went to bed that night she could not sleep, for a peculiar voice was coming from the crack-
"What is this we see?

Our Snake has slithered out of his bag!"
