Description
The way angels are described in the Bible is extremely fascinating to me, and I really wanted to do a piece exploring that. There must be a reason why every time they speak to a human they say "Do not be afraid!" before telling their message or whatever. Also inspired by depictions of the Night Vale Angels, which seem to me to be closest to biblical descriptions than any other pieces I'd seen before-otherworldly, beautiful, and divinely terrifying.

Oh wow, this is so beautiful and powerful. 
I'm actually reading Revelation right now (made a goal to read the entire Bible---almost done! 8D), and I too am fascinated by some of the beings and beasts that John describes.
I love the appearance you've given this angel here, and the colors and everything are so striking.... but even more than that, I feel like the manner, the attitude you've captured here is even better. Everything from the pose of the body, to the set of the mouth, to the almost serene glances of some of the eyes---for none of them seem evil or wicked---everything really does seem to add to the sense of this being a powerful, holy, goodly creature, one that would take no pleasure in harming, one that acts for the good of mankind.
